What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that killed a teen at US 67 in Tom Green County, TX on May 24th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 4:30 p.m. According to investigators, a Dodge Ram 2500 headed southbound on US 67 is alleged to have failed to control its speed and collided with the rear of a Ford Escape stopped for a left turn into a private drive. Authorities say the impact caused both vehicles to go into a skid across a northbound lane into a ditch and fence. Authorities say a 17-year-old passenger in the Ford was fatally injured. The driver of the Ford, identified as 45-year-old Christina Schuler, was seriously injured, as was the other driver. Sources indicate a Failure to Control Speed charge was recommended and/or issued against the operator of the Dodge.
