What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that injured a driver at State Hwy 123 in Guadalupe County, TX on February 1st, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 9:23 a.m. According to investigators, a Ford F-350 is said to have been headed southbound before allegedly failing to yield during a left hand turn attempt onto FM 477. The in the process of the turn, the vehicle is said to have struck a Toyota 4Runner headed northbound on Hwy 123. The collision caused the Toyota to veer into a guardrail and the Ford into a parked construction truck. Reports say the driver of the Toyota, 51-year-old Christopher Jon Salazar, was seriously injured while the other driver was allegedly uninjured. Sources indicate a Failure to Yield charge was recommend and/or issued against the operator of the Ford. Additional information was not available.
