What Happened

Houston Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding a collision that killed a woman at Katy Fwy in Houston, TX on October 24th, 2021. They say it happened around 3 a.m. When a passenger in her vehicle began to feel seek, 29-year-old Ciandra Reed pulled over her Toyota sedan and parked in a shoulder of the freeway. After she exited the vehicle to check on her passenger, an approaching Hyundai sedan is said to have veered from the road into the shoulder where it collided with the Toyota, pushing Reed and causing her fatal injuries. The passengers in the Toyota suffered minor injuries. Investigators say there is suspicion that the Hyundai driver was intoxicated at the time of the collision and had no additional information to share.
