Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a pedestrian at Houston Ave in McAllen, TX on March 26th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 3:04 p.m. According to investigators, a Ford Ranger operated by a 43-year-old Weslaco man was headed westbound from a parking lot before crashing through a wooden fence and into the parking lot of La Copa Inn. It struck 59-year-old Ciro Herrera Vargas, who was standing near a parked vehicle and pinned between the vehicles in the collision. Officers say Vargas had serious injuries while the Weslaco man was evaluated for possible injuries. Authorities recommended and/or issued an Intoxication Assault charge.
