What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at FM 524 in Brazoria County, TX on July 31st, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 12:19 p.m. A tractor-trailer operated by a 54-year-old West Columbia man reportedly failed to control its speed for stopped vehicles ahead and veered from its lane into opposite direction traffic. It then collided with a Jeep Renegade operated by 63-year-old Clarice Groves. Groves suffered minor injuries. The truck driver was not injured.
