What Happened

Officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at I-35E in Farmers Branch, TX on October 31st, 2024. Police are saying it happened around 3:37 a.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer headed northbound is alleged to have collided with a stationary Ford F-150, before swerving and colliding with an additional tractor-trailer. Officials say the stationary Ford was in a middle lane of travel without active lighting following an earlier collision. Its operator, identified as 41-year-old Claudia Avalos Esparza, was seriously injured. Officials say there were no other reported injuries and expressed belief that driver inattention on behalf of the driver of the first truck may have contributed to the crash.
