What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured two drivers at US 80 in Kaufman County, TX on November 18th, 2021. Police say it took place around 10:13 a.m. A Chevrolet Equinox, operated by 63-year-old Clerisse Ewelike, was headed eastbound on US 80 while a tractor-trailer was in an adjacent eastbound lane. Investigators believe that the Equinox performed a lane change that caused the vehicles to collide, pushing the tractor trailer into a median and the Equinox onto its passenger side. The truck overturned and the 63-year-old Dallas driver, suffered serious injuries. Ewelike was also seriously injured.
