What Happened

Beaumont Police are investigating a crash that killed a person at S Martin Luther King in Beaumont, TX on November 7th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 2:13 a.m. A Chevrolet truck headed northbound in southbound lanes is said to have crashed head-on into a southbound Nissan Altima. The driver of the Altima, 19-year-old Clyde Thompson died at the scene and a passenger, 19-year-old Tonysha Lashay Smith, was hospitalized with injuries that she later died from. The driver of the Chevrolet truck was hospitalized with undisclosed injuries.  22-year-old Antonio Delgado was later charged with two counts of Intoxication Manslaughter. Police say his blood alcohol content level was .156, nearly twice the legal limit in Texas.
