What Happened

Authorities are investigating a multi-vehicle crash that injured several people at State Hwy 123 in San Marcos, TX on December 9th, 2023. Officials are saying it happened around 4:42 p.m. and involved a tractor-trailer allegedly disregarding a traffic control device at an intersection. Authorities believe this led to a collision between the truck, a Nissan Sentra and Nissan Armada. Reports indicate the 17-year-old Sentra operator and her 17-year-old passenger both had minor injuries while an infant in the vehicle was more seriously injured. Also seriously injured, according to reports, was the 49-year-old driver of the Armada, identified as Cocoa Riveira. The driver of the tractor-trailer, who was not publicly identified, as allegedly uninjured. Reports indicate a Disregard Traffic Control Device charge was recommended and/or issued.
