Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a driver at US 67 in Somervell County, TX on February 10th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 7:33 p.m. Police say the incident happened around 7:33 p.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet Silverado operated by 32-year-old Cody Ripley was headed eastbound on US 67. A JCB Backhoe loaded was headed eastbound ahead of the truck. Officers allege the Chevrolet failed to control its speed and collided with the Backhoe bucket attached to the truck. The impact sent both vehicles veering from the road and left Ripley with fatal injuries. The other driver, an unnamed 46-year-old Granbury man, was not injured.
