What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a driver at FM 2571 in Bastrop County, TX on January 29th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 12:14 a.m. According to investigators, a Ford Ranger operated by 20-year-old Cole Clayton Hampton was headed southwest on FM 2571 when it veered into a guardrail and began attempting to correct. The vehicle then overturned and ejected Hampton from the vehicle and causing fatal injuries. Officers allege suspicion that alcohol was involved in the crash.
