What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian at I-35 in Georgetown, TX on December 1st, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 4:52 a.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet Silverado operated by a 30-year-old San Antonio man was northbound in a left lane of travel of the frontage road. At the same time, reports say 30-year-old Colter Davis Nelson was attempting to cross the roadway. Reports indicate the Silverado may have traveling over the posted speed limit on wet, poorly lit roads when it collided with Nelson. Nelson suffered fatal injuries in the incident. The San Antonio man, who was not publicly identified, had injuries considered to be minor in nature, police say. Additional information was not immediately available.
