What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a person at US 377 in Erath County, TX on January 4th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 3 a.m. According to investigators, a Dodge Ram 2500 operated by 21-year-old Colton Wilson was reportedly headed southwest on Hwy 377 when it lost control at a curve. It went through a barrow ditch and over a culvert, taking the vehicle airborne. Upon landing, the vehicle overturned and ejected Wilson from the vehicle, causing fatal injuries. Officers allege suspicion that Wilson may have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.
