What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured three people at Toll Loop 8 in Houston, TX on August 28th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 7:10 p.m. According to investigators, a commercial tractor-trailer was eastbound. At the same time, a Cadillac XTS  ahead was slowing due to low tire pressure and allegedly activated its hazard lights while attempting to exit onto a shoulder. As it did so, police allege the tractor-trailer failed to control its speed and collided with a Mercedes-Benz ahead before it collided with the Cadillac. The crash left the operator of the Mercedes, identified as 30-year-old Constantine John Ewan, with suspected serious injuries. The driver of the Cadillac, a 32-year-old woman who was not publicly identified, suffered serious injuries as well, according to police. A 35-year-old passenger was less seriously injured while the tractor-trailer was not injured. Additional information was not immediately available.
