What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a driver at Sanford St in Arlington, TX on October 25th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 7:47 p.m. According to investigators, a Toyota Tundra was eastbound while a Honda Civic was headed westbound. The Tundra is said to have lost control after striking a bump in the roadway before veering into a westbound lane. From there, the vehicle collided with the Civic before eventually striking a curb and coming to rest on the front lawn of a private residence. The driver of the Honda, identified as 26-year-old Cristhian Lopez Peña, suffered fatal injuries. The 16-year-old driver of the Toyota was uninjured, reports say.
