Police say the incident happened around 10:40 p.m. Investigators are saying a Mazda CX-9 operated by 39-year-old Crystal Evans was westbound on 45th Street, nearing the intersection with Loop 464. Authorities allege the vehicle may have been traveling at a high rate of speed before going airborne and landing. Upon landing, police say the vehicle went into a skid and left the road. There, they say the vehicle traveled onto private priaptery and struck both a tree and a parked, unoccupied pickup truck before coming to rest.
