What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a person at US 90 in Val Verde County, TX on May 24th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 6:39 p.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer operated by a 58-year-old Pompano Beach, FL man was entering onto US Hwy 90 in order to turn westbound. A Chevrolet Malibu operated by 25-year-old Daisy Nicole Olveda was traveling eastbound at a speed believed to be unsafe as the truck entered into its path. Both vehicles collided, causing Olveda serious injuries. The Florida man, who police say may have failed to yield and may have turned when unsafe, was not injured.
