Nacogdoches Police Department officials are investigating a collision that killed two people at Hwy 21 in Nacogdoches, TX on April 25th, 2025. Police are saying a box truck headed westbound allegedly veered into an oncoming lane while attempting to avoid striking a stopped vehicle. Officials say that truck collided with a pickup truck, leaving 27-year-old driver, Dakoda Bennefield, fatally injured. 54-year-old passenger, Nancy Bennefield, was hospitalized with injuries she later died from. The box truck operator, who was not publicly identified, was hospitalized with serious injuries. Additional information was not available.
