What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a person at US Hwy 287 near Palestine, TX on June 29th. 2022. Police say the incident happened around 6:03 p.m. According to investigators, a motorcycle headed southbound on US 287 allegedly attempted to pass a Ford Escape by traveling into a center turn lane. As the Ford was moving into the lane to turn into a driveway, the vehicles collided and the impact ejected the motorcyclist. The cyclist, identified as 28-year-old Dakota Boger, suffered fatal injuries at the scene. The Ford driver was treated at the scene and released.
