What Happened

Area authorities have information related to a crash that injured a driver at County Rd 511 in Collin County, TX on September 1st, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 9:37 p.m. A Jeep Wrangler operated by 26-year-old Dakota Lee Rule was traveling southbound on County Rd 511 when it veered from its lane. Police say it partially entered a northbound lane, striking a trailer attached to a Toyota Tundra. The Jeep lost control and attempted to correct back onto the roadway before ultimately rolling into a ditch Both Rule and his passenger, 24-year-old Dylan Lionel Rule, were ejected from the vehicle. Dylan was not injured, however, Dakota suffered serious injuries. The driver of the Tundra, 36-year-old April Marie Angel, was not injured, nor were her passengers. Investigators allege that Dakota had been drinking prior to the crash.
