What Happened

Authorities are investigating a multi-vehicle crash that killed one person involved at I-35 in Selma, TX on September 21st, 2024. Officials say it happened around 12:30 a.m. According to investigators, a Ford Fusion was headed southbound on I-35, allegedly seen by witnesses swerving between lanes at a high rate of speed. Reports claim the vehicle hit a concrete barrier, the impact sending it into a nearby vehicle and creating a chain reaction steer crash involving several other vehicles. A passenger in the Ford, identified as 28-year-old Dakota Wright, was fatally injured. The driver, who was not publicly identified, was allegedly seriously injured. The driver of one other vehicle involved is said to have had possible injuries while all other involved parties were allegedly uninjured. Additional inforamtion was not available.
