What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials named the man killed in a collision at US 60 in Parmer County, TX on March 19th, 2022. Police say the incident involved a Chevrolet Malibu operated by 21-year-old Damian Javier Garcia. Officials that the vehicle was reportedly speeding and officers attempted a traffic stop but the vehicle did not stop. The vehicle crossed a center median into westbound lanes while headed eastbound before it crashed with a Jeep Wrangler. Two teen passengers in the Chevrolet, ages 15 and 16, died at the scene while Garcia died later from his injuries at an area hospital The driver and a passenger of the Jeep were both hospitalized with serious injuries while another passenger suffered less serious injuries.
