What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials have information on a collision that killed a pedestrian at Manchaca Rd in Austin, TX on February 26th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 2:14 a.m. According to investigators, an Acura sedan operated by a 26-year-old Edmond, OK man was headed westbound on Slaughter when it collided with a pedestrian. Police say a witness at the scene informed them the driver allegedly had a green light at the time of the collision. The driver stopped and remained at the scene for police while the pedestrian, 27-year-old Damon Middleton Jr, was hospitalized with serious injuries.
