Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at State Hwy 171 in Hood County, TX on April 12th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 5:37 p.m. According to investigators, a Honda Civic operated by 19-year-old Danica Stout was headed southeast on State Hwy 171 when a commercial truck made a left turn into a private drive. As the Civic came around a hill, it collided with the truck which had not completely clearly the roadway. Stout suffered serious injured in the collision while the other driver was not injured. Reports indicate a Failure to Control Speed charge was recommended and/or issued.
