What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a driver at US 190 in Lampasas County, TX on April 14th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 10:05 a.m. Investigators say a commercial dump truck operated by a 51-year-old Killeen man was was in a construction zone, pulling from the side of the rear to perform a u-turn. Investigators believe as the vehicle began turning, it collided with an eastbound Jeep Wrangler operated by 52-year-old Daniel Alfred Redding. Redding suffered serious injuries, according to police. Following the collision, officials allege the truck left the scene and was found half a mile away, its driver leaving in another vehicle. Additional information has not been made available.
