What Happened

Area authorities have information on a collision that injured a driver at TX 199 in Jack County, TX on October 15th, 2021. They say the incident happened around 5:55 a.m. A Ford F-150 operated by 53-year-old Daniel Cortez Jr was headed westbound on State Hwy 199 when it moved to the shoulder and stopped. A Ford F-250 operated by 33-year-old Klint Stallons approached as the 150 began a u-turn to go left at the intersection with FM 2210. The 250 is said to have attempted evasive action and swerved left before both vehicles collided. Stallons and his two passengers were uninjured. Cortez, who police suggested and/or issued a Turning When Unsafe charge against, suffered serious injuries in the collision. Additional information was not available.
