Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a driver at US 83 in Escobares, TX on December 21st, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 6:10 a.m. Investigators say a Chevrolet Corvette operated by 19-year-old Daniel Lopez was southbound on San Julian Rd proper to turning onto US 83. Reports say the vehicle suffered tire issues that caused the vehicle to lose control and veer from the road into a north ditch. From there, the vehicle is said to have struck a chain-link fence before catching fire. Lopez was seriously injured, according to reports. Additional information was not immediately available.
