What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at US 84 in Coryell County, TX on August 25th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 12:28 p.m. A Ford F-250 operated by a 50-year-old Waco man was headed southbound on US 84 with an attached trailer when unsecured cargo in the trailer began to fall into the road. Debris from the cargo traveled across northbound lanes into the path of a motorcycle operated by 42-year-old Daniel Louis Escamilla. Some of the debris struck the bike and Escamilla, who was able to bring the bike to a stop. He suffered minor injuries while the other driver was not injured. Police say he did turn around back to the site of the accident and was cited for Failure to Secure Load.
