Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a woman at State Hwy 8 in Maud, TX on March 13th, 2022. They say the incident happened around 3:47 p.m. According to initial investigating, a Dodge Ram was reportedly headed southbound in Hwy 8 when it approached railroad tracks. Police say the railroad crossing gate was activated for an oncoming track that the Dodge allegedly drove around the gate onto the tracks before it was struck by the train. The driver, identified as 49-year-old Darla Masters, suffered fatal injuries at the scene. Additional details were not available.
