What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at State Hwy 332 in Freeport, TX on April 29th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 5:30 a.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer operated by a a 48-year-old West Columbia man was headed southbound on Commerce St when it stopped at a posted stop sign. Police allege the truck failed to yield before entering into the intersection and collided with a Lincoln Town Car operated by a 25-year-old Clute man. An approaching motorcycle operated by 37-year-old David Lee Goodson III collided with the Town Car after the collision, ejecting him from the bike and causing serious injuries. The other two drivers were reportedly uninjured. Reports indicate a Failure to Yield Row Stop Intersection charge was recommended and/or issued against the West Columbia driver.
