What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at FM 1130 in Mauriceville, TX on July 25th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 4:25 a.m. A Ford F-150 operated by 25-year-old David Ligon was headed northbound on FM 1130 as it approached railroad tracks. A train was approaching and as a result, the crossing arms began lowering and the lights were flashing red. The Ford reportedly disregarded the arms and lights and collided with the approaching train. Ligon, who was seriously injured, was charged with Driving While Intoxicated.
