What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at FM 2493 in Smith County, TX on October 12th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 3:47 p.m. A Lexus GX operated by 66-year-old Deborah White Edwards was traveling northbound on FM 2493 when it stopped to turn left onto County Rd 177. An approaching tractor-trailer, operated by 30-year-old Rhomas Lewis Rosales, is said to have failed to control its speed before colliding with the rear of the Lexus. Edwards suffered minor injuries. Rosales was not injured and issued a citation for Failure to Control Speed, according to reports.
