What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that killed a driver at US 287 in Midlothian, TX on January 31st, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 1:21 a.m. According to investigators a Chevrolet Corvette headed westbound on US Hwy 287 before attempting to exit onto a main road. In the process, reports say the vehicle lost control and went into a skid before colliding with a light pole. The impact is said to have caused the vehicle to overturn, ejecting the driver from the vehicle. The driver, who was identified as 64-year-old Dennis Prather, was fatally injured.
