What Happened

Houston Police are investigating a crash that killed an officer at I-10 in Houston, TX on November 22nd, 2024. Authorities are saying the incident happened around 3:07 a.m. According to investigators, a Mazda collided with a vehicle occupied by an officer and her daughter as well as a utility truck in a shoulder lane. Reports say the vehicles all caught fire, leaving 46-year-old Harris County Deputy, Katherine Hutson, fatally injured. Authorities say Hutson's daughter also suffered fatal injured in the crash. An individual standing near the utility truck and a passenger in the Mazda were hospitalized with serious injuries while the Mazda operator remained at the scene with authorities.
