Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a person at FM 51 in Wise County, TX on August 11th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 11:30 a.m. According to investigators, a box truck headed eastbound was crossing the intersection with FM 51 as a motorcycle headed northbound. Police say the two vehicles collided, leaving the driver of the motorcycle, 40-year-old Derrick Fatheree, with fatal injuries. The other driver, identified as 50-year-old Demond Cortez Nettles, was not injured, police say. Additional information was not immediately available.
