What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials have information related to a crash that killed a driver at I-45 in Harris County, TX on June 27th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 4:16 a.m. A Chevrolet Impala operated by 39-year-old Deshawn Vella was headed southbound on the service road of I-45 when it veered out of its lane. The vehicle began to rotate and stuck a concrete pillar in the process, causing fatal injuries the Vella. Police say that alcohol played a role in the crash after performing a toxicology test.
