Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured three people at State Hwy 317 in Bell County, TX on October 8th, 2023. Police are saying it happened around 10:35 p.m. According to investigators, a Ford Expedition was westbound on FM 1237, allegedly seen traveling without active headed lights. Officials allege the vehicle ran a posted stop sign at the intersection with State Hay 317. They say the vehicle proceeded into the intersection, traveling into the path of an approaching Mitsubishi Eclipse. The two vehicles collided, leaving 23-year-old Mitsubishi passenger, Destiny Smith, with suspected serious injuries. The driver, a 23-year-old Moody man who was not publicly identified, had minor injuries, according to police. Police say the other driver also had minor injuries and expressed charges were pending against the driver.
