What Happened

Houston Police are investigating a crash that killed a man at Kelley St in Houston, TX on January 6th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 6:30 p.m. A passenger vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed veered from the road and crashing into a fire hydrant. The impact caused the vehicle to overturn into a group of trees, causing fatal injuries to a male occupant. He was later identified as 23-year-old Deunta Jemell Rose. Two women in the vehicle, including 18-year-old driver, Martha Reese, both suffered minor injuries. Police say Reese fled the scene and was later located and arrested on a charge of Failure to Stop and Render Aid.
