What Happened

Authorities report a collision that allegedly occurred on CR 164 in Wharton County, TX on September 28th, 2024. Officials believe the incident happened around 4 a.m. According to investigators, a vehicle authorities were not able to identify is alleged to have sideswiped a Kia Soul as it navigated a curve in the roadway. Officials say the driver of the Kia, identified as 30-year-old Devon Johnson, was seriously injured. The other vehicle allegedly fled the scene prior to police arrival.
