What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured both drivers at US 77 in Brownsville, TX on May 6th, 2023. Police say it happened around 12:01 p.m. According to investigators, a Honda CR-V operated by a 39-year-old Harlingen man is said to have been traveling on 13th St. At the same time, a Nissan Pathfinder operated by 51-year-old Deyanira Jeanneth Reyes was on South Expressway 83. Police allege the Honda ran a red light at the intersection before colliding with the Nissan. Officers say Reyes had suspected serious injuries while the Harlingen man is believed to have been less seriously injured. A Disregarding Red Light charge was recommended and/or issued.
