What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed one person at State Hwy 154 in Wood County, TX on September 18th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 7:03 a.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet 1500 operated by 24-year-old Leopoldo Guerrero Jr is said to have been headed eastbound before veering from the road for unclear reasons. From there, the vehicle overturned, leaving one occupant of the vehicle, identified as 34-year-old Diana M. Valenzuela, with fatal injuries. An additional passenger, 25-year-old Diovanni S. Cisneros, was hospitalized with serious injuries. Guerrero is said to have been less seriously injured and authorities recommended and/or issued charges for Intoxication Manslaughter and Intoxication Assault.
