What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at I-20 in Grand Prairie, TX on October 9th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 4:39 a.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet Camaro operated by a 22-year-old Cleburne man was headed westbound on I-20 at an alleged high rate of speed before it colliding with the rear of a Honda CR-V operated by 53-year-old Donald Trussell. Russell was seriously injured the collision when the HInda was pushed into a guardrail. The driver and passenger of the Camaro are said to have fled the scene on-foot before later being apprehended by authorities. Officers recommended and/or issued charges of Accident Causing Injury and Suspicion of Driving While Intoxicated against that driver.
