Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at FM 1426 in Hidalgo County, TX on May 28th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 1:50 a.m. According to investigators, a Toyota Rav4 operated by 66-year-old Dora Gonzales Watts was headed southbound, approaching the intersection with Alberta Rd. Police allege a Mazda CX-9 operated by a 20-year-old Edinburg man ran a red light at the intersection before colliding with the Toyota. Watts had suspected serious injuries while the Edinburg man had less serious injuries. Authorities recommended and/or issued a DWI charge and Disregarding Red Traffic Signal charge.
