Area authorities have information on a crash that killed two people involved at US 59 in Marion County, TX on July 3rd, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 9 a.m. According to investigators, a Dodge Journey headed westbound on FM 2208 is alleged to have traveled into an intersection before colliding with an 18-wheeler. One of the vehicles overturned in the collision before the truck collided with a second 18-wheeler. Two occupants of the 18-wheeler, identified as 25-year-old Jasmine Griffin and 32-year-old Eddie Bell, were both killed in the crash. A 5-year-old child in the vehicle was hospitalized with injuries suspected of being non-life-threatening in nature. The drivers of the 18-wheelers were also hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police. Additional information has not been made available.
