What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that injured a driver at I-10 in Austin County, TX on January 28th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 12:31 p.m. According to investigators, a Toyota Corolla headed westbound on I-10 is said to have suffered a tire blow out that caused the vehicle to lose control. From there, police say the vehicle may have over-corrected before colliding with a semi-truck in an adjacent lane and a nearby concrete median. The collision left the driver of the Toyota, identified as 20-year-old Eliana Montondon, seriously injured. A passenger and the driver of the commercial truck were allegedly uninjured.
