Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at US 271 in Tyler, TX on February 11th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 12:02 p.m. According to investigators, a Ford F-150 operated by a 69-year-old Tyler, TX man was headed southbound on Beckham Ave when it collided with a Buick SUV that turned into the path of the vehicle. The driver of the Buick, identified as 84-year-old Elizabeth Ann Smith, was seriously injured, according to reports. The Tyler man and his passengers were reportedly uninjured. Reports show the Tyler man was cited for Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility while Smith was cited for Failure to Yield Right of Way.
