What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a collision that injured two people at Roosevelt Ave in San Antonio, TX on July 1st, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 12:26 p.m. A GMC Sierra, according to witnesses at the scene, was headed northbound on Roosevelt Ave at a high rate of speed when it moved to a center turn lane to avoid a collision with other vehicles It then lost control and veered into southbound lanes before colliding with Jeep Compass operated by 44-year-old Emeterio Salinas Jr. Salinas suffered serious injuries. The GMC driver, 33-year-old Nathan Garza, was less serious injured. Responding officers say Garza suffered signs of intoxication at the scene and both he and Salinas were hospitalized for treatment.
