What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a woman at US 77 in Waxahachie, TX on December 28th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 2:26 p.m. A tractor-trailer operated by a 40-year-old Lincoln, NE man was headed northbound on Hwy 77 and approaching Becky Lane. At Becky Lane was a Hyundai Elantra operated by 250year-old Emily Mae Holbert. As the tractor-trailer approached the signal light for the intersection, investigators say it turned from yellow to red. Shortly after, the Becky Lane light turned from red to green and both vehicles collided at the intersection. Holbert suffered minor injuries in the collision while the Lincoln man was not injured.
