What Happened

Police are investigating a crash that injured a driver at US 57 in Eagle Pass, TX on July 26th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 3:51 p.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer headed westbound was approaching a Ford Mustang stopped at a red light. Reports claim the Ford veered out of its lane as the truck approached, in an effort to avoid a rear-end collision. Reports further the claim the truck also veered out of its lane while attempting to avoid striking the Ford, however, was unable to avoid the collision. Sources say the driver of the Ford, identified as 36-year-old Emmanuel Cortinas, was seriously injured. Authorities did not have any additional information available.
