What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that injured a driver at US 60 in Deaf Smith County, TX on June 12th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 10:20 p.m. According to investigators, a motorcycle headed northeast on US 30 was truck from the rear by a Chevrolet Silverado. Reports allege the driver of the Chevrolet fell asleep at the wheel, the collision leaving 50-year-old motorcyclist, Eric Gomez, seriously injured. The Chevrolet operator was allegedly uninjured and sources say a Failure to Control Speed charge was recommended and/or issued.
